TAMALE OLA CATHEDRAL WEBSITE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Our Lady of Annunciation (OLA) Cathedral Parish, Tamale, has officially launched its website, olatamale.org, to strengthen communication and information sharing in the parish.
The launch took place on Sunday, 23 August 2026, during all three Masses by Rev. Fr. Festus Tubdaar, Curate, (1st Mass), Very Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Kuusah, Administrator (2nd Mass), and Rev. Fr. Philemon Nangkureh, Curate, (3rd Mass).
The initiative is aimed at providing societies, groups, and the wider parish community with an all-in-one digital platform through which they can access information and connect with each other and the parish.
The website will also transform parish administration, enhance spiritual growth, and foster socio-economic development.
The website will host a wide-range of data on the parish and its activities. One of its features is the parishioner registration module. This provides a comprehensive demographic data of parishioners, family relationships, household structures, skills and spiritual needs, among others.
The website can also be used to store sacramental and other Church records. In addition, the system makes it is possible to track activities of the various societies, attendance, and roles of members. It also houses a gallery and events module where pictures and stories of activities organized by the Church and societies are displayed and published.
On the business network module, businesses, products and services owned by parishioners can be showcased, similar to a market place or shop.
While logged into the website, parishioners can access bulletins and daily readings. They can also request for Mass, prayers, and homilies, pay their tithes and other levies and contributions, and perform, many other functions.
The website can also be used to forecast information for future planning and real time access to dissemination of information, while also serving as a safeguard measure to aid investigations during security emergencies, among other uses.
Speaking during the launch, the website designer, Mr. Cecil Dokye, described the website as, “one of its kind in the country”.
He encouraged parishioners, especially business owners, to take advantage of the platform by registering their businesses on the website to promote and showcase their services to the world.
All celebrants during the Masses, also encouraged groups, societies, and individual parishioners to register on the website.
They noted that active participation and utilization of the website would contribute to building a vibrant, digitally-connected, and therefore a united parish community.
